Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 3 years required; travel experience preferred but will consider first-time traveler with 5+ years of experience License: RN state license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI, TNCC Must-Have: EPIC charting system experience Description: Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Nurse for day shifts. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse patient population. The average daily census is 140 patients, managing various conditions such as chest pain, stroke, sepsis, and trauma. The nurse will provide care to patients across all age groups. The position requires working every other weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled. Floating within the specialty may be required. The nurse will operate special equipment including Belmont in trauma and rapid infusers. Successful candidates will be comfortable managing critical care situations and have experience with various emergency procedures. A patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:4, increasing to 1:5 with lower acuity patients. Candidates with charge experience and trauma level certification are preferred. The role demands strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
