Teacher - Marketing Instructor (CACC) 2026-27 Location: Columbia, Missouri – Columbia Area Career Center. Job Description The position is responsible for classroom instruction and training in marketing education to district students. The instructor will collaborate with colleagues to deliver high‑quality programming that prepares high‑school students for post‑secondary education or employment in marketing‑related fields. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Meet and instruct assigned classes individually and collaboratively as scheduled. Plan and implement a program of study that addresses all students' needs, interests, and abilities using data‑driven decision‑making. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to a diverse group of students. Prepare for assigned classes and provide written evidence of preparation upon supervisor request. Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and communicate clear objectives. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media appropriate for the facility and students. Collaborate with administrators, colleagues, and parents to develop, evaluate, and refine curriculum. Implement the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals. Assess student achievements regularly and provide progress reports. Evaluate learning problems, seek assistance from District specialists when needed. Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain accurate records required by law, policy, and regulation. Assist in implementing policies governing student life and conduct and develop classroom behavior rules. Be available to students and parents for educational purposes outside instructional hours as needed. Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides or volunteers where applicable. Develop and maintain a community Advisory Committee. Foster student leadership development through the DECA organization. Maintain and improve professional competence through development activities. Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required. Perform other duties as necessary. Reporting Relationships Reports to: Director and Assistant Director. No supervision responsibilities. Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor’s degree and Missouri teacher certificate in Business and/or Marketing 9‑12. Preferred: Master’s degree in Marketing or Business. Ideal candidate: Demonstrated professional and friendly demeanor with ability to work well with diverse individuals in a fast‑paced environment.
