We foster a collaborative environment where every team member can thrive and contribute to our mission of excellence.Position Overview:Title: Assembler Reports To: Shop Supervisor Location: Oconomowoc WIAs an Assembler, you will plan and perform diversified mechanical and electrical assembly operations to assemble intricate or large and expensive equipment. You will also guide and check the work of Assemblers of lower classification and Production Assistants.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble and integrate control panels, electrical systems, and mechanical components according to engineering drawings and schematicsPerform point-to-point wiring, routing, and termination using appropriate electrical toolsInterpret and work from electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawingsComplete mechanical assembly tasks, including fitting, alignment, tubing, and fastening of componentsPerform testing and basic troubleshooting of assembled systems to ensure proper function and qualityInstall and connect fluid system components using compression fittings, threaded pipe connections, and brazed jointsUse tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, multimeters, torque wrenches, and standard hand/power toolsIdentify and resolve assembly or quality issues, escalating when necessaryMaintain accurate production documentation and job recordsCollaborate with engineering, quality, and other production team members to support build efficiency and product improvementsFollow all safety procedures and 5S standardsCore CompetenciesTechnical Proficiency: Strong capability in both electrical and mechanical assemblyProblem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve build issues effectivelyOwnership Mindset: Demonstrates accountability consistent with Sentry's employee-owner cultureTeam Collaboration: Works effectively across production and support teamsAdaptability: Able to shift between product builds and priorities in a high-mix environmentWhat Sets This Role Apart at SentryOpportunity to work on complex, custom-built systems combining controls and mechanical assembliesDirect involvement in build, test, and troubleshoot phases—not just repetitive assembly workDefined growth path through training matrix developmentQualifications:Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience.Experience: Minimum five years of mechanical experience.Skills and Knowledge:Demonstrates A Player Competencies: Aptitude, Alliance, Agility, Accountability, Awareness & Anticipation.Strong mechanical aptitude.Cooperative attitude and ability to function effectively as a team member.Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office and ERP programs.Knowledge of design, layout, mechanical principles, and product operation.Detail-oriented with strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, measuring devices, and Work Instructions.Skill with mechanical assembly techniques.Skill with safe operation of hand and power tools.Ability to operate overhead crane and/or forklift.Physical Requirements:Ability to bend, reach, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.Good spatial orientation, eye-hand coordination, and eyesight.Normal color vision, demonstrated by identifying various wire colors.Why Sentry?At Sentry, we value our employees and provide opportunities for growth and development.
