CardVault by Tom Brady - Loss Prevention Officer

Brief Description The Loss Prevention Officer plays a key role in reducing shrink, preventing theft, and maintaining a safe and secure retail environment. This role is responsible for actively monitoring store activity, conducting investigations, analyzing transaction data, and implementing loss prevention strategies. The specialist partners closely with the Loss Prevention Manager and store leadership to protect company assets, identify risks, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Assist the Loss Prevention Manager in monitoring daily store activity, including POS transactions and surveillance systems Support investigations related to shoplifting, employee theft, fraud, and policy violations Review CCTV footage and transaction reports to identify suspicious behavior, including fraud and chargeback‑related activity Assist in researching and documenting chargebacks and fraudulent transactions, including gathering video and transaction evidence Document incidents accurately and maintain organized case files Help track and report shrinkage, fraud trends, and loss prevention metrics Assist with store audits, inventory checks, and compliance reviews Partner with store leadership to address loss prevention concerns Communicate findings and escalated issues to the Loss Prevention Manager Support training of store associates on theft awareness, fraud prevention, and company policies Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information Other duties as assigned to support the loss prevention department Requirements Qualifications High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred 1+ year of retail, security, loss prevention, or fraud‑related experience preferred Familiarity with retail operations, point‑of‑sale systems, and basic fraud/chargeback processes Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Basic computer skills, including Excel or reporting tools Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities Physical Demands / Work Environment / Hours Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while monitoring sales floors, entrances/exits, and surveillance areas. Ability to observe, identify, and respond quickly to potential security or safety concerns. Ability to occasionally lift or move items up to 30 lbs using proper techniques. Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, if needed.
