Position Summary

The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Sophia seeks a dynamic, sales-driven professional to serve as Manager of Venue and Sales for The Huffington at Saint Sophia. The primary focus of this position is to market and position the venue, build strong client and community relationships, convert inquiries into confirmed events, and maximize revenue and facility utilization. The Manager will be a visible representative of Saint Sophia, ensuring that every interaction reflects the professionalism, hospitality, dignity, and values of the Cathedral while elevating The Huffington at Saint Sophia brand.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead sales efforts from initial inquiry through walkthrough, proposal, negotiation, contract, event completion, and follow-up, providing prompt and professional communication throughout.

· Develop and execute marketing and outreach strategies that elevate The Huffington at Saint Sophia brand, expand awareness, generate qualified leads, fill available dates, and increase repeat and referral business.

· Provide effective leadership and supervision of venue and support staff, setting clear expectations and fostering a professional, collaborative, service-oriented environment.

· Build strong relationships with event planners, corporations, nonprofits, schools, cultural organizations, vendors, community partners, past clients, and prospective clients.

· Present the venue with confidence and hospitality, clearly communicating its value, capabilities, policies, and distinctive connection to the Cathedral community.

· Maximize revenue through disciplined lead follow-up, strong conversion practices, thoughtful pricing, appropriate upselling, and attention to profitability while protecting the Cathedral’s financial interests.

· Maintain accurate proposals, contracts, deposits, payments, event details, calendars, and client records using Perfect Venue and related systems.

· Coordinate with Cathedral staff, venue personnel, security, custodial staff, and vendors so confirmed events are professionally executed and consistent with Cathedral standards.

· Track and report inquiries, tours, proposals, bookings, revenue, receivables, conversion performance, and future business opportunities.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience, with 3–5 years of experience in venue sales, hospitality, event sales, business development, event planning, or a related field.

· Demonstrated ability to generate business, build client relationships, conduct persuasive walkthroughs, negotiate effectively, and close sales.

· Excellent communication, organization, follow-through, financial judgment, and comfort with CRM/event-management technology. Perfect Venue experience is a plus.

· Professional presence, discretion, initiative, and an understanding that this position represents both The Huffington at Saint Sophia and the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Sophia.

· Strong working knowledge of Perfect Venue is a significant advantage and will be highly valued in a candidate.
