KC Windustrial is one of the largest commercial plumbing suppliers in the Kansas City market. We have been delivering to some of the largest job sites in the area for over 15 years. We have newer trucks and are looking to add a driver to our family-oriented work environment. Class A CDL drivers earn $27-$29/hour plus overtime every week. We work Monday through Friday and are home every night. We also have a benefits package that includes life, health, dental, vision, paid vacation, and paid holidays.

Position Overview:

The truck driver’s primary responsibility is to ensure that inventory is delivered to or picked up from customers in a courteous, safe and efficient manner, while providing the highest possible level of customer service. As driver’s, you are the face of our company to our customer’s in the field. Be courteous, be respectful and be helpful.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate company-owned vehicles in a safe manner, ensuring that all traffic laws are obeyed and safety procedures are followed.
• Assist in loading and unloading of merchandise on vehicle, ensuring the load is safely distributed on the vehicle and that proper material handling practices are used.
• Obtain legible signatures from customers upon delivery of merchandise and collect cash or checks on COD orders. If customer signatures are not legible, record the name of the customer below the signature line.
• Follow assigned delivery schedule, ensuring deliveries are made in a timely fashion by the most cost-effective route.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the requirements for Department of Transportation
• In the event of any incident or accident on roadways or jobsites, contact your supervisor immediately. Use the company provided phone to take photos of damage to KC Windustrial property, and damage of property owned by all other involved parties. Take pictures of all involved parties Driver license and insurance information. Follow all other instructions from the supervisor before leaving the scene.
• Inspect vehicle daily and complete the required paperwork. Maintain vehicle in neat and clean condition.
• Promptly report operating problems or maintenance needs on vehicles.
• Maintain neat personal appearance and demonstrate a courteous, service-minded attitude in dealing with customers.
• Keep warehouse manager/supervisor informed of shortages, overloads or damaged merchandise, and any complaints received from customers.
• The truck driver may be called upon to perform other duties as the warehouse manager/supervisor deems necessary.
• Assist the warehouse with order pulling when needed.
• Help receiving by putting stock away when necessary.
• Return all necessary paperwork from your routes to the appropriate department to ensure proper receiving and billing.

Key Responsibilities…Daily: Run the routes assigned to you in a timely manner (*10 minute rule) . Load your truck quickly and efficiently for your next run. At the end of the day, assist with the loading of trucks, order pulling, or freight stocking until you are released to go home. Contact supervisor about additional PO’s at Vendors. Report any issues that may occur immediately to your direct supervisor. Be organized and clean out your trucks at the end of the day.

*10 Minute Rule: if after 10 minutes you cannot reach customer contact for delivery, call the dispatcher for instructions.**

Key Responsibilities…Weekly: Each week you are required to wash your truck thoroughly.(Inside & Out)

Key Responsibilities…Quarterly: Complete a Quarterly review with your supervisor and address goals

Key Responsibilities…As It Occurs: Customer satisfaction. Find out what is needed to solve a customer issue and communicate with the router.
