Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.Basic QualificationsBachelors or higher degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or combination of experience/educationStrong working knowledge of program execution through all life cycle phasesExperience in dispositioning non-conformances in mechanical hardwareAerospace structural mechanical design experience that includes the interpretation of engineering design drawings.Experience with engineering CAD tools (Creo, Solid Works, I-DEAS, etc.) and model based product definition.Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.Candidate must have good oral, written, and presentation communication skills.Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.Desired SkillsExperience with agile / go fast program executionExperience with satellite bus structure designExperience with composite materials or bonded assembliesSelf starter with outside the box thinkingAbility and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently.Experience with application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5.Experience with Engineering Data Product release process within the Engineering Product Data Management (EPDM) system.Knowledge of LM Space command media.Working knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical systems.
