Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Behavioral Health

Company: Arbor Associates, Inc.

Location: East Hartford, CT and surrounding area

Shift: Primarily second shift; some first shifts and overnights available

About the Role

Arbor Associates is seeking dependable and compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide hands-on support to adults with developmental and behavioral health needs in the East Hartford area. This is a community-based, residential program - you'll be out in the neighborhoods with clients, helping them build independence and access their community.

Consistent second shift availability, including weekends, is required for this role.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing direct support and personal care assistance to adults with developmental disabilities and complex behavioral needs
• Accompanying clients on community outings and neighborhood walks
• Implementing behavioral support plans and responding to behaviors using approved techniques
• Documenting daily activities, progress notes, and incident reports
• Building genuine, consistent relationships with the individuals you support

Job Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Comfort working with individuals who exhibit significant behavioral challenges - this is a high-need program and a good fit for someone who is calm under pressure and consistent in approach
• Experience with or willingness to be trained in Physical Management Techniques (PMT); prior PMT certification is a plus - training will be provided
• Ability to assist with personal care (bathing, hygiene, toileting, etc.)
• Valid driver's license required
• Reliable weekend availability for second shift
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Prior experience in behavioral health, developmental disabilities, or a related field preferred but not required

Schedule

• Primary need: Second shift, including weekends
• Additional opportunities: First shift and overnight shifts available
