If you have a strong background in behavior analysis or counseling and are passionate about supporting students’ success, this contract opportunity close to Plano, TX, could be an excellent fit. Work alongside a dedicated team to provide essential behavioral support across diverse learning environments and make a lasting impact in education.
Qualifications & Preferred Background:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree highly preferred
- Valid Texas teaching certification with Special Education (SPED) endorsements
- Hands-on experience in special education, social work, counseling, or similar fields
- Strongly prefer candidates with backgrounds as school counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), or in psychology/social work
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification welcomed
- Proven track record supporting students with behavioral needs in educational settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to individual student needs
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and document findings
- Participate actively in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD), Individualized Education Program (IEP), Response to Intervention (RtI), and Section 504 meetings
- Provide proactive classroom support and respond skillfully in crisis intervention scenarios
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to promote positive student outcomes
- Maintain thorough and confidential records in compliance with district and state guidelines
