Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room provides critical patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring effective assessment, treatment, and patient education. They play a vital role in supporting the emergency care team to deliver quality outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients upon admission and continuously monitor their condition throughout their stay.
• Administer IV medications, blood products, and therapies as prescribed.
• Document patient care actions, observations, responses, and educational information accurately.
• Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Coordinate with charge nurses and preceptors to ensure seamless patient care and team collaboration.
• Support emergency department functions, including handling urgent situations and providing preceptorship when needed.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with active certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Bring at least 2 years of recent experience in an emergency or critical care setting.
• Have at least 1 year of critical care nursing experience, demonstrating advanced clinical skills.
• Be willing and able to assume charge nurse and preceptor responsibilities when required.
• Be a non-previous employee of St. Mary's facility and meet local travel criteria.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, documentation, and patient education skills.
