Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 6 month contract Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience with orthopedic, general, OB/GYN, eyes, and urology Description: A professional nurse is an individual accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit and promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comforts, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Responsibilities include performing assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. The RN initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care, reviewing and revising it as indicated. Collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services is essential. The RN utilizes resources appropriately to support organizational, patient, and family needs. Monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions are part of the evaluation process. The RN facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. This includes care, treatment, and services provided during their stay and at discharge. The RN delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and functions as a mentor/preceptor. Teamwork is encouraged, and opportunities for improvement are identified and communicated. Participation in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts is expected along with implementing practice changes. Compliance with regulatory standards is necessary. Participation in a governance model is also required.
