Speech-Language Pathologist Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities Thomas A Wildey Center - Batavia, Ohio Job Details Job ID: 5744657 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: May 28, 2026 7:06 PM (UTC) Job Description Responsibilities : Designs and administers ongoing individualized or group therapy sessions to assist students in reaching identified language, speech, augmentative, or communication objectives and social communication. Determines appropriate therapy and assistive technology; works directly with students through direct communication, vocalization, object communication, group discussion, sign language, and assistive technology to develop and improve speech or communication skills. Measures and assesses communicative abilities, evaluates language, speech, and hearing levels, and recommends appropriate placement based on communicative abilities or disabilities. Assists in developing IEP goals; communicates with families, caregivers, and other school staff or community professionals regarding communication goals and progress; evaluates and documents progress and modifies programs as necessary. Conducts home visitations to discuss language development program and observe home environment; serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Prepares lessons to address speech, hearing, language development, and communicative needs; develops teaching or augmentative communication aids and materials; maintains records of student progress. Conducts in‑service education programs or other training to instruct staff and caregivers on language development, speech, hearing, and communication abilities and disabilities. Accompanies students or families to physicians or hospitals for testing or treatment; administers oral and topical medication when delegated by a registered nurse. Maintains current knowledge of field developments to provide beneficial client care; participates in employer‑provided training. Qualifications : Current State of Ohio licensure as a speech language pathologist and a Professional Pupil Services License issued by the Ohio Department of Education. Physically able to lift, carry, and position children in a safe manner; capable of performing crisis interventions. Valid CPR and First Aid certification if transporting individuals. Successfully passes pre‑employment criminal background check, abuser registry check, nursing registry check, and post‑offer/pre‑employment physical exam with drug testing and agility test.
