Located on the edge of White Memorial, our space combines a curated retail selection, service center, bike rentals, and a full slate of cycling programs and events. We're focused on creating an inclusive and elevated riding community in northwest Connecticut.Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and motivated bicycle mechanic to join our service team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical ability, a passion for bikes, and excellent customer service skills. The mechanic will be responsible for performing a wide range of service tasks—from basic tune-ups to advanced diagnostics on modern drivetrain systems and e-bikes.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform bike repairs and maintenance on a variety of bicycles, including road, mountain, gravel, and e-bikesBuild new bikes and complete quality control checks on incoming inventoryDiagnose mechanical issues and provide service estimatesComplete drivetrain overhauls, brake bleeds, wheel truing, and suspension service (as experience allows)Work with customers to explain repairs, recommend services, and ensure a great experienceSupport rental fleet upkeep, including regular checks and quick fixes between rentalsMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspaceOccasionally assist with retail or ride events when neededRequirements QualificationsPrevious experience working as a bicycle mechanic (shop or equivalent setting preferred)Strong working knowledge of current bike technology including:Electronic shifting systems (e.g., SRAM AXS, Shimano Di2)Hydraulic disc brakesE-bike systems (Specialized Turbo experience is a plus)Attention to detail and commitment to high service standardsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyWillingness to be part of a small, collaborative, and community-focused teamBonus Points ForSuspension service experienceFamiliarity with point-of-sale and service ticketing software (e.g., Lightspeed)Bike fitting experience or interest in learningA love for gravel, trail, or adventure ridingBenefitsCompetitive payIndustry discounts on bikes, gear, and accessoriesAccess to demo bikes and ride experiencesFlexible, community-oriented work environmentOpportunities to participate in ride events, clinics, and product trainingsPotential to grow into a full-time role within a growing company
