Bilingual Program Instructor - CHCT

Annual Hours: As needed or assigned not to exceed 25 hours per week or 1000 hours in a fiscal year. Position Type Temporary Part-time Job Category Non-Exempt General Description The function of the bilingual program instructor of the OCCC Capitol Hill Center is to instruct in various programs, in English and Spanish, which increases access to technology and promotes the use of technology in education for adults and youth, and programs that will meet community needs. Reports To Senior Director of Community Outreach and Education Experience Two (2) years experience in relevant areas of program instruction. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Bilingual English Spanish Effective communication skills in English and Spanish Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Proven bilingual interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Ability to utilize computer technology Experience teaching adult audiences Physical Demands / Working Conditions Light work: May occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Frequent communication and listening to students, faculty, staff, and others to perform essential functions. Frequently move about the classroom to assist students and perform essential functions. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs. Frequently remain in a standing and stationary position. Occasionally position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level. Frequently operate a computer, other office/classroom equipment and mobile devices to prepare instructional documents, answer email correspondence, and complete other activities necessary to perform essential functions. Frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists. Observe, judge, and assess accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned. Perform essential functions in an indoor classroom or office setting. Preferred Qualifications None Work Hours Day, evening, and/or weekend depending on course assignment(s). Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others. Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.
