Low Voltage Cable Technicians - Data Center Roles Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (QTS Data Center) Position Summary: The Low Voltage Cable Technician is responsible for installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems within the QTS Data Center. This role supports critical infrastructure projects by ensuring high-quality installation of copper and fiber optic cabling while maintaining strict safety, quality, and production standards. Key Responsibilities: Install, route, dress, label, and terminate low voltage copper and fiber optic cabling. Read and interpret blueprints, rack elevations, cable schedules, and project drawings. Perform cable testing, certification, and troubleshooting to ensure system performance. Install pathways, cable trays, ladder racks, conduit, and support structures. Maintain accurate documentation, labeling, and as-built records. Follow all data center standards, customer requirements, and company quality procedures. Adhere to OSHA regulations and site-specific safety policies. Coordinate with supervisors, leads, and project teams to meet project milestones and deadlines. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment. Qualifications: Experience installing structured cabling systems in commercial, industrial, or data center environments. Knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling installation practices. Ability to read construction drawings, network diagrams, and work orders. Experience with cable termination, testing, and certification preferred. List of Preferred Experience: Data center, mission-critical, or hyperscale facility experience. Fiber optic splicing, testing, and troubleshooting experience. Experience working in active construction or technology environments. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
