About the Role We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Time Off Products team, where you’ll lead a team of engineers to build critical products that empower companies to manage their workforce on a global scale. You need to design systems and collaborate with the data infrastructure team to ensure our technical systems can scale with our business needs. At the core of Time Off is an accruals rules engine, and you will partner closely with Product Management to design these systems for all countries and legal jurisdictions. You are expected to design the primitives of these systems, make them auditable and explainable, and use LLMs in the product. What You Will Do Build & Innovate: Write scalable code while driving the architecture of our most critical products. Set the Bar for Engineering Excellence: Set standards for high-quality software and ensure products remain fast, efficient, and reliable at scale. Lead Design & Architecture: Own and guide the technical design of new features, ensuring alignment with long‑term goals and solving the right problems. Mentor & Elevate the Team: Guide and mentor junior engineers to grow technically and professionally. Foster a culture of continuous improvement. Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other teams to prioritize and refine the product roadmap. What You Will Need Minimum 7 years of hands‑on backend engineering experience using Python, Django, or similar technologies. Strong computer science fundamentals with experience designing and optimizing complex systems that operate at scale. Product‑oriented mindset: understand product, user experience, and design, and spot opportunities for improvement. Entrepreneurial spirit: thrive in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments and solve big, impactful problems. This role is office‑based. Employees living within a defined radius of a Rippling office are expected to work in the office at least three days a week under current policy.
