Graphic Designer **Three Month Position**

Moment is seeking a high-energy, creative and cutting-edge Graphic Designer to join our small, hardworking staff through the end of the year. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced journalism environment, is a self-starter, works well collaboratively and thrives on deadlines. The position is located in our Washington DC office. About Moment Moment is a fiercely independent magazine that provides wide-ranging perspectives on the political, cultural and social issues facing the Jewish community. Founded in 1975 by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel and writer Leonard Fein, Moment has been the leading independent Jewish intellectual and cultural magazine for more than 50 years. Through its print and digital magazines, newsletters, and innovative events and programs, more people read and engage with Moment today than at any time in its history. Responsibilities The Graphic Designer will work collaboratively with the editorial and creative teams to: Create visually compelling layouts for Moment's bimonthly print publication. Design and produce images and other visual assets for Moment's website, newsletters and social media channels. Design promotional materials for Moment events and programs. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines. Prepare print-ready files and digital assets as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign and Photoshop. Experience designing and producing multi-page publications, including print production and file preparation. Experience creating digital assets for advertising, email, web and social media. Strong design fundamentals, including typography, composition, color, visual hierarchy and information design. Motion graphics or video experience with After Effects, Premiere or Animate is a plus. We're looking for a team player and creative problem-solver with a positive attitude, a sense of humor and the ability to work effectively under deadline pressure, including occasional extended hours when needed.
