CDL A Transit Driver - Doubles Endorsement Required Location: 31 Peck Lane, Newtown CT Minimum of 2 years driving experience with your class A. Must have prior experience operating double trailers. No Auto Restriction; must be able to operate a 10 speed transmission. Do you have a passion for driving? Are you looking for more home time? In this position, you will be transporting loaded and empty trailers, singles or doubles, from GFS Distribution Centers or from point-to-point via night transit. Night shifts mean you’ll be home every day, and there's not touch freight required. Feel safe and secure at a company that values and respects you. Newly licensed drivers are encouraged to apply! Schedule: Sunday - Thursday Start times range between 7-9:30pm and work until finished Pay: Component Pay: Pay per day and per trip Drivers are averaging $42 per hour!! At least 21 years of age Class A CDL License at hire Minimum of 2 years driving experience with your class A Doubles (T) endorsement required Must be able to push and pull up to 50lbs (connecting trailers) Must be able to read, write and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork and follow verbal instructions) Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards You must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
