Working Conditions

The employee is required to work any shift and schedule in a variety of settings throughout the hospital and may be required to work overtime and float to other work locations as determined by the operational needs of the hospital.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired. • The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.

Ability to: Type at a speed of not less than 40 net words per minute from ordinary manuscript or printed or typewritten material. 
Must provide copy of typing certificate with Standard State Application (STD 678).

All state civil service employees are currently subjected to a mandatory Personal Leave Program (PLP), which entails a reduction in monthly gross salary but provides PLP leave credits in lieu of Pay through June 30, 2027. The amount of salary reduction is dependent upon the classification and associated union Bargaining Unit (BU). The BU for this position is Service Employee International Union (SEIU) , subject to 3% in salary reduction, accruing approximately 3-5 hours of PLP each month.

This limited term position may be extended up to 24 months and has the possibility of becoming permanent .  This advertisement may also be used to fill future vacancies for positions that are of the same classification and same tenure/time base if the vacancy occurs while this job posting is active.

All applicants must provide a copy of valid tying certificate with Standard State Application (STD 678). Acceptable:  Typing certificates must be issued within the last four years & must be a certified test that meets the State Personnel Board requirements. Certificates are accepted from the following institutions:

1. California State Agency/Department

2. Accredited Business school or college

3. Adult Education Center

4. Skills and Business Education Center

Unacceptable Certificates:  Internet Typing Certificates, Typing Certificates from Employment Agencies and Typing Certificates issued for less than a five (5) minute typing test are not acceptable.
