Full Stack Application Developer Vice President

Citi Futures and Derivatives Clearing Technology supports a rapidly growing business that uses technological innovation to maintain competitive advantage in a constantly evolving market. Working closely with the business, external vendors and internal technology teams, you will build and maintain our next‑generation clearing platforms, manage complex projects that involve incorporating new functionality, analyzing requirements, documenting solutions, managing implementation and testing, and ensuring that they are fit for purpose. You will regularly collaborate with business analysts and high‑profile stakeholders. The Data and Reporting team develops and supports a platform that provides client reporting and feeds downstream applications within Citi, delivering real‑time trades, positions, margin and balance information to traders, operations and sales. A major ongoing initiative is modernising the platform to enhance scalability and support new business requirements. As the development lead for data and reporting, you will design and deliver best‑in‑class technical solutions, research best practices, architect applications, and oversee delivery to the Futures and Clearing business. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional business users, QA engineers and BAs to produce high quality solutions. Responsibilities Lead design and development of technical solutions for the data and reporting application using best engineering practices. Contribute to technical direction and enhancement as a technical expert during development and implementation phases, performing sophisticated analysis to define problems and develop innovative solutions. Work closely with business users, stakeholders, BAs, product managers and other development teams to understand the problem space, brainstorm ideas, approaches and solutions. Design and develop software applications using microservices cloud‑native architecture that are resilient, stateless, scalable and testable, with automation and reusability as key objectives. Contribute to CI/CD implementation using DevOps best practices based on industry and Citi standards. Collaborate with key business SMEs to develop an in‑depth understanding of their critical data and reporting needs and the impact of data quality issues. Demonstrate a data‑driven approach to problem‑solving and decision‑making, using metrics and performance indicators to assess team efficiency and identify improvement opportunities. Partner with QA team to ensure a robust testing framework is used for functional and non‑functional testing. Partner with Support team to maintain production stability with proactive monitoring and health checks. Collaborate with other Citi development teams to build APIs, integrations and share components critical to the platform’s success. Exhibit strong leadership qualities, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, providing guidance and mentorship to team members, and promoting continuous learning. Work closely with business users, stakeholders, BAs, product managers and other development teams to understand the problem space, brainstorm ideas, approaches and solutions. Qualifications 10+ years of experience designing and building enterprise applications and data architecture with engineering excellence. Strong hands‑on experience leading solution architecture and development, including front‑end web and back‑end application development with scalable data architecture. Strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Hands‑on experience with front‑end, back‑end and infrastructure technologies including Angular/React, Spring Boot/Cloud, API. Experience with modern software paradigms such as cloud‑native (AWS, Docker) and microservices. Experience with application security best practices (secret management, OAuth/PKI). Experience implementing DevOps, CI/CD and modern best practices such as testing frameworks and SOLID principles. Experience with Business Intelligence reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) and API integration. Hands‑on experience with traditional and modern data systems (relational/non‑relational, cloud/big data platforms, data catalogue and governance tools). Passion for adopting new technologies with an exploratory mindset. Experience as a technical lead for software development and implementation. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment. Innovative ideas and can‑do attitude to work under pressure. Experience in financial services is a plus but not required. Experience in Gen AI/Agentic AI and AI agent integration/automation development is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams, stakeholders and management. Education Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience in computer sciences, engineering, math/statistics.
