Hiring a Guidance Navigation & Control Engineer for a Contract with a client located in Washington

Title: Guidance Navigation & Control Engineer

\n

Location: Washington

\n

\n

Position Responsibilities:

\n

• Investigate in fleet anomalies and incidents; perform root cause analysis, create mitigation plans, and drive resolution with customers and internal stakeholders.

\n

• Review and interpret system architecture, requirements, and design documentation to assess impacts of anomalies and proposed fixes.

\n

• Lead and support system/component tests including iron bird, lab rigs, and production test setups; author test plans, monitor execution, analyze results, and document conclusions.

\n

• Produce and maintain technical artifacts required for certification and continued operational safety: system safety analyses , FMEA, fault trees , and traceability to requirements and regulations.

\n

• Coordinate across manufacturing, avionics , supplier management, flight operations, safety , and regulatory teams to deliver robust, production friendly, and compliant solutions.

\n

• Mentor production teams and suppliers on design intent, installation practices, and troubleshooting techniques to reduce recurrence.

\n

• Rapidly troubleshoot production issues on the line and at supplier facilities; define corrective actions and design changes to improve build accuracy, producibility, and safety.

\n

\n

Required:

\n

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

\n

• 5+ years of technical experience in an aerospace or similar regulated industry environment.

\n

\n

Skills:

\n

• Experience with flight control systems and components.

\n

• Background in requirements development, system architecture analysis, and design-to- cost/manufacturability practices.

\n

• Familiarity with ARP4754 / ARP4761 and systems safety processes.

\n

• Hands on experience with manufacturing support, functional/acceptance test rigs, and iron bird test environments.

\n

• Experience using requirement management tools (e.g., IBM Rational DOORS).

\n

• Experience performing Systems Safety Analysis, FMEA, FTA, and related failure analyses.

\n

• Experience working directly with airline customers and regulatory agencies to resolve in service issues.
