Commercial Construction Estimator / Project Manager
Location: Kansas City Metro
Job Type: Full-Time

Brighten Builders LLC is a growing commercial construction company in the Kansas City area, and we’re looking for a Commercial Construction Estimator / Project Manager to join our team.

We specialize in commercial interior renovations, remodels, and finish work across healthcare, education, government, senior living, and other commercial markets. We’re looking for someone who is motivated, detail-oriented, and ready to play a key role in both estimating and project management.

This is a cradle-to-grave position, meaning you’ll be involved from bidding and preconstruction all the way through project completion on awarded work.

What you’ll be doing:

• Reviewing plans, specs, addenda, and bid documents

• Performing quantity takeoffs

• Soliciting and leveling subcontractor and supplier pricing

• Preparing bids, budgets, and proposals

• Identifying scope gaps, overlaps, and value engineering opportunities

• Managing awarded projects from start to finish

• Keeping bid files, project documentation, and tracking organized

• Attending pre-bid meetings, walkthroughs, and site visits as needed

• Building and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and vendors

• Coordinating scheduling, materials, subcontractors, and communication throughout the project

What we’re looking for:

• 2+ years of commercial construction estimating and/or project management experience preferred

• Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, and sequencing

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

• Proficiency in On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, Bluebeam, Excel, and Procore

• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills

• Ability to handle multiple bids and active projects at one time

• Experience with commercial interior construction and finish trades is strongly preferred

Experience in these scopes is a big plus:

• Metal studs and framing

• Drywall

• Ceilings

• Carpentry

• Interior finishes
