Front Office Manager

Overview Front Office Manager responsible for managing the day‑to‑day operations of guest reception, guest services, reservations, and concierge at Montage International. Duties include profitable financial management, leadership, and excellent customer service. Responsibilities Assist front office managers with recruitment, training, and development of all associates. Exercise coaching and counseling within hotel’s set policies. Ensure all Human Resources standards and procedures are met on a daily basis. Oversee departmental matters related to federal, state, and local employment, labor, and civil rights laws. Interact frequently and positively with guests and resolve problems/issues to the satisfaction of involved parties. Maintain constant communication with management and other departments to ensure guest service needs are met. Visually monitor hotel standards such as lighting, music, temperature, business levels, staffing levels, service steps, FORBES standards, timing of service, and cleanliness. Maintain/review profitability measures with General Manager and support overall hotel operations. Control payroll and equipment costs, minimize loss, and manage inventory using OSE inventory calculations. Develop and implement cost savings and profit‑enhancing measures throughout the departments. Review daily revenues and labor reports, compare to monthly forecasts/budgets, and assist with monthly forecasting. Ensure efficient movement of guests in and out of the hotel while providing exceptional service. Communicate with and develop department managers to ensure standards are consistently met. Learn hotel life‑safety systems and be prepared for emergency situations. Use systems including OPERA, LMS, TIMESAVER, ADP, HRM, BIRCHSTREET & HOTSOS. Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs. Qualifications College degree preferred. 3 to 5 years of leadership experience in a luxury hotel. Experience and knowledge of hotel operations required; Opera experience preferred. Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Positive attitude and willingness to participate in a learning environment. Excellent guest recovery skills, ability to remain calm under stressful situations, and drive professionalism. Strong driving record and exceptional communication skills. Ability to work and remain calm in fast‑paced environments and to handle weekend, night, and holiday shifts. Adaptability to effectively use new software products. Physical Requirements Most work tasks performed indoors with walking and directional duties; standing and walking for 8 hours a day; ability to push and pull carts and equipment up to 250 lbs occasionally; requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
