Senior Accountant - CAAS for Not-for-Profit

We have an opening for a full-time Senior Accountant in our growing Client Accounting & Advisory Services department. This role is based in our Westchester, IL office supporting several clients in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements in a fast-paced environment.Position OverviewWe are a Chicagoland-based CPA firm with offices in Chicago & Westchester, IL, Schererville, IN and Edina, MN. Accountants will have the opportunity to work from Client offices, Legacy offices and remotely as scheduling allows.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform monthly and quarterly accounting and bookkeeping services for clientsPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statementsAssist clients with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management functionsMaintain and reconcile general ledger accountsPrepare month-end and year-end close processesAssist with budgeting and financial reporting requestsSupport audit and tax engagements by preparing schedules and requested documentationCommunicate directly with clients regarding accounting questions and financial mattersidentify process improvement opportunities and recommend best practicesQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting preferred5-10 years of general accounting experience requiredExperience with QuickBooks (Desktop and/or online) and other accounting software platformsStrong Microsoft Excel skillsExperience working with nonprofit organizationsExperience with outsourced accounting or Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) preferredPayroll processing and preparation of payroll tax returns experience is preferredAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize as neededStrong organizational skills and detail-oriented mindsetHighly motivated self-starter with strong problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and client service skillsBenefitsCompetitive benefits package (including vacation, sick leave, holidays, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), long/short-term disability, life insurance and a flexible spending account program)Paid parental leaveDress for your day attire (jeans in the office and professional attire at clients)Paid time off and holiday timeEmployee referral bonusFun firm sponsored social eventsLegacy Professionals LLP is an equal opportunity employer.
