Location: Seattle, Washington, 98101 (Hybrid Role – Must be local to the Seattle area)

Must Have Skills For This Role

• Senior Software Engineer with experience building and developing web applications in a cloud environment
• 6+ years' experience with Python microservice development, developing new features/components and APIs - This team will integrate with 25+ systems so they need someone who has experience working in enterprise and complex environments.
• Hands on experience with AWS Services including Lambdas/Serverless/API Gateway
• Kafka (Added Bonus if candidate has experience with Kafka)

Job Description

• Team: Product Content Management (PCM) - Responsible for data organization and manipulation for all content on shop.lululemon.com and the lululemon mobile apps. The PCM team serves the catalog for lulu's multibillion dollar website.

Core Accountabilities

• Build and extend web applications in a cloud environment.
• Own development and maintenance of the AWS infrastructure using Terraform, Cloudwatch and Cloudformation
• Ensure that customer facing applications are designed to be highly available, observable, and durable via software engineering best practices.
• Work with Product and Project Owners to understand end-user requirements, formulate user stories and then translate those into pragmatic and effective technical solutions.
• Work closely with onsite and remote frontend, backend and operations engineers to ensure deliverables are well-documented, secure and resilient.

Required Skills, Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of real-world experience developing, deploying, scaling and maintaining Python based web apps. A good portion of this experience should come from developing web experiences in and around cloud-based services and/or service oriented architectures.
• Productive in contemporary JavaScript development environments.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Experience with data management strategies in browser environments.
• Strong software development fundamentals including automated testing, source control (Git), continuous integration in addition to continuous delivery and/or deployment. Experience integrating web frontends with complex multi-tier applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong willingness to learn and teach. A passion for solving problems and desire to understand how things work.
• Ability to help troubleshoot and resolve production system issues.
• Ability to author well designed, testable, efficient code. We always prefer clarity over clever.
