In this role, you will be a key player in developing and deploying cutting-edge, data-driven solutions that optimize production, streamline workflows, and solve enterprise-level problems. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including engineers, optimizers, and field operators, to understand their challenges and translate them into impactful software solutions and/or process improvements.Key AccountabilitiesPartner with Operations, Optimization, Interventions, and other teams to identify opportunities for improvement and develop innovative solutions that leverage the power of dataDesign, develop, and deploy robust applications using Python, SQL, and Snowflake within the AWS cloud environmentChampion the adoption of best practices for software development, including version control, code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)Collaborate with Technology and Production as a product owner to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing support of in-house solutionsContribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise-level systems and standards that drive efficiencyBuild intuitive and insightful reporting tools and dashboards using Power BI, Streamlit, and/or other Python web frameworks to empower data-driven decision-makingLeverage AI tools like Claude Code and create AI agents to facilitate analysis and outcomesEssential Experience and EducationBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field8+ years experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly related to Petroleum Engineering, preferredStrong programming skills in Python and SQL, especially for data-intensive applicationsExperience with cloud platforms like AWS and AzureCompetency with containerization technologies such as Docker and KubernetesFamiliarity with workflow orchestration tools like Dagster+ preferredExperience developing in Palantir a plusExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesA passion for problem-solving and a strong analytical mindsetDesirable Criteria and QualificationsEffective Communicator: Able to present complex problems to a diverse audience, from field personnel to upper management, in a clear and concise manner.
