Schedule: Full-Time (30-40 hours per week) or Part-Time (20-25 hours per week). Flexible scheduling available within regular office hours of 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00/hour

Job Description:

TEMPO Employment Services is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support the daily financial operations of a local business in Presque Isle. This position is ideal for someone with accounting or bookkeeping experience who enjoys working with numbers, keeping accurate records, and helping ensure financial information is up to date.

The Accounting Assistant will help with journal entries, account reconciliations, data entry, and other general accounting duties. The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable working with financial information, and able to stay organized while handling multiple tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Enter financial information accurately into accounting systems
• Prepare and record journal entries
• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Review financial records for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
• Maintain organized financial records and documentation
• Assist with month-end accounting tasks and reports
• Enter and update data in spreadsheets and accounting software
• Help identify and correct errors in financial records
• Maintain confidentiality when handling financial information
• Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
• Familiarity with journal entries and account reconciliations
• Experience with data entry and maintaining accurate financial records
• Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets, and accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to identify discrepancies and solve problems
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable and able to manage time effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Accounting education or relevant coursework is a plus
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored visa support.
