Job Opportunity in Erlanger, KYJoin our team in Erlanger, KY, a vibrant city known for its welcoming community and strategic location near major transportation hubs. We are seeking an experienced professional to contribute to our dynamic tool shop environment. This role offers the opportunity to apply your skills in machining and tool-making while working with a dedicated team.ResponsibilitiesUse manual machining equipment to build fixtures.Repair fixtures, molds, and tools as needed; disassemble and reassemble molds, jigs, tools, and fixtures.Read and understand blueprints and complex schematics to create and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts.Inspect completed tools and dies for imperfections or damage affecting functionality.Demonstrate mechanical ability and explain basic tools and their usage.Perform drilling, tapping, and deburring using appropriate equipment and methods.Possess welding and fabrication skills to improve quality.Show a desire to gain knowledge in the shop and independently.Read and draw basic prints and understand the goals of a tool shop.Build on prior trades experience and refine skills necessary for tool making.Maintain a clean and organized shop and tools.Plan the next steps in processes and prepare accordingly.Read measuring tools: tape measure, scale, micrometer, calipers, height gauge.Regularly test equipment, tools, and machines to ensure they are set properly and working efficiently.Modify machine parameters to control speed, material feed, or path of cut to ensure a quality product within specifications.Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace.Perform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsProven experience as a Tool and Die Maker.Minimum 5 years in machining and alteration of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.Understanding of mathematics, handbook formulas, and trigonometry.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Thorough knowledge of machine shop practice, principles of machine tool operations, mechanics, and working qualities of materials.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Good communication skills.Benefits PEAK's benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Dependent Care Savings Account (DCA), and 401K plan.
