Dental Assistant – Naval Health Clinic, Quantico, VA We are seeking a qualified Dental Assistant to support the Naval Health Clinic in Quantico, VA. Key Responsibilities Assist in one or more phases of complex/difficult restorative, prosthodontic, oral surgical, endodontic, or periodontal treatment; receive and schedule patients for treatment. Obtain and record patients’ medical history; chart examination and treatment information; record prescription details. Sterilize instruments, materials, and equipment; prepare surgical trays; maintain dental equipment in a clean and operative condition. Assist dentist at chair side; perform intra‑oral procedures as directed; take preliminary impressions for study models, remove sutures, place and remove rubber dams, perio‑packs, matrix bands, and wedges. Relay dentist’s instructions to patients for post‑treatment care; instruct patients in proper dental techniques, appliance care, and causes of dental decay. Operate dental X‑ray equipment to take intra‑ and extra‑oral radiographs; maintain, clean, and perform minor repairs on X‑ray equipment and materials. Pour and trim models from impressions; construct custom impression trays; maintain recurring reports related to dental activities. Manage patient workload, readiness, and scheduling; utilize Dentrix/MHS Genesis to enter patient‑specific workload and readiness status and for patient scheduling. Required Qualifications U.S. Citizen. Degree/Education: Certificate or associate degree as a dental assistant from a CODA‑accredited program, or certification from a military dental technician or dental assistant school, or certification from a Red Cross Dental Assistant course. Experience: 1 year within the preceding 36 months. Certified in Radiography. BLS certification through the American Heart Association. Benefits Full‑time employee status, Monday to Friday.
