WHAT THIS JOB IS

Orion Transit operates a contracted WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle) fleet in Philadelphia under the Uber WAV network. As a driver, you operate a company-provided vehicle during an assigned service block, accepting Uber ride requests — including standard UberX and WAV trips.

This is a real job with a real schedule, real performance expectations, and real consequences for not meeting them.

It is not an app you open when you feel like it. It is not a side hustle. It is not flexible in the ways gig driving is flexible.

If you're looking for something you can do "on your own time" — this is not it. If you're looking for consistent, full-time income with a predictable schedule — keep reading.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for drivers who:

• Show up when they say they will — every time
• Take pride in doing the job right, not just doing enough to get by
• Understand that the passengers they serve depend on reliable transportation
• Can handle a long shift without cutting corners
• Don't need to be managed, reminded, or chased down
• Can follow traffic safety signals & signs

We are NOT looking for drivers who:

• Log out early when it gets slow
• Cancel rides because they don't feel like doing them
• Call out frequently or disappear without notice
• Treat this like something they can do halfway
• Have a history of moving violations, accidents, or poor professional conduct

If you've been let go from a driving job before, we're not automatically ruling you out — but we will ask, and we do verify. Be honest.

THE SCHEDULE

Drivers are assigned one of the following service blocks:

• 4AM – 1PM
• 5AM – 2PM
• 2PM – 12AM
• 3PM – 1AM

You are expected to be online and accepting rides for the full duration of your block. Each vehicle must log 9–12 active hours per day. Vehicles operate Monday through Saturday. No Sundays.

Short shifts are not accepted. Partial availability is not accepted. If you cannot commit to a full block on your assigned days, do not apply.

HOW YOU GET PAID

Pay is performance-based. Your rate is determined by how well you do your job each week.

• Base Rate: $12.60/hr (guaranteed starting point)
• Hours Incentive: +$4.20/hr (complete your required scheduled hours)
• Acceptance Rate: +$3.15/hr (maintain 95%+ trip acceptance)
• Cancellation Rate: +$1.05/hr (keep cancellations under 4%)
• FULL RATE: $21.00/hr (hit all KPIs — this is the target)

Weekly bonus: Complete 60+ online hours and earn an additional $100 that week.

Drivers who consistently perform earn $2,000+ bi-weekly. Drivers who don't hit their numbers earn less. Simple as that.

This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position. Weekly pay via direct deposit.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS — READ THIS CAREFULLY

These are not suggestions. These are contractual requirements.

• Trip Acceptance Rate: 92% minimum at all times
• Cancellation Rate: 4% maximum at all times
• Online Time Per Shift: 88% minimum of your scheduled block

Falling below these standards triggers a progressive discipline process. Repeated violations result in escalating financial penalties. Serious or repeated misconduct results in immediate contract termination.

Zero-tolerance violations — immediate termination, no warning, no second chance:

• Unreported accidents
• Phone use while driving
• Any substance violation
• Unsafe or reckless driving
• Violating traffic signs

We take the safety of our passengers — many of whom have disabilities and depend on accessible transportation — extremely seriously. Careless driving is not tolerated.

REQUIREMENTS — NO EXCEPTIONS

• 23+ years of age
• Valid driver's license — no suspensions, no expirations
• 1+ year of professional driving experience
• No DUI or DWI — ever
• No felony convictions
• No misdemeanors in the past 5 years
• No violent, sexual, theft, or drug-related charges
• No open criminal or traffic cases
• Pass full background check
• Pass FTA drug screen
• Physical ability to drive 8–10+ hour shifts
