DIESEL MECHANIC (JFK Airport)
Starting Pay: $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
JOB DUTIES:
• Diagnose and repair gas and diesel-powered engines.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using electrical and hydraulic schematics and testing equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on company equipment.
• Repair and recondition equipment components to maintain operational efficiency.
• Complete electronic work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Ensure equipment is maintained in a clean, safe, and operational condition.
• Read and interpret manufacturer technical manuals and maintenance documentation.
• Communicate equipment conditions, repair needs, and recommendations to management and team members.
• Collaborate with operations teams to minimize equipment downtime.
• Follow company safety procedures and workplace standards.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance inspections.
• Support a safe and efficient mechanical shop environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 2 years of diesel mechanic experience or related training.
• Air brake adjustment certification required.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of airport ground service equipment and airport operations is a plus.
• Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 75 pounds.
• Availability to work various shifts, including weekends, as needed.
