Closing Date: ALWAYS ACCEPTING. Overview Eden Prairie Schools is seeking applicants for the Reserve Teacher program. Reserve teachers play an important role in ensuring that students continue to receive high‑quality education when the regular classroom teacher is not present. This position is available at elementary, middle, and high‑school locations across the district. Responsibilities Provide substitute instruction and support to classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher. Maintain classroom organization and safety, following district policies and procedures. Adhere to lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular teacher. Communicate effectively with teachers, principals, and support staff as needed. Qualifications A current Minnesota teaching license is required for Reserve teachers. This license permits substitution in grades K‑12. Or a four‑year college degree that meets the requirements for a Short Call Substitute Teaching License issued by PELSB, which allows you to substitute teach in a Minnesota school district. For the 2025‑26 school year, candidates may apply for the Emergency Short Call Substitute Pilot Program. Qualifications include: Holding a minimum of an associate’s degree or equivalent and having or receiving substitute training from the school district or a charter school; or Holding a high‑school diploma or equivalent and having been employed as education support personnel or a paraprofessional within the district for at least one academic year. Compensation The following rate structure applies for the 2025‑26 school year: Full day rate: $173.00 (Days 1‑34) / $183.00 (Day 35+) for grades K‑6, $87.00 / $92.00 for 1/2 day, $130.00 / $137.50 for 2/3 day, $193.00 / $203.00 for full day. Short‑call substitution rates apply to grades 7–8 and 9–12 and are adjusted accordingly. Substitutes who teach more than 45 days during the school year will start on the incentive rate.
