Job Title: Electrophysiology Technologist Profession: Technologist Specialty: Electrophysiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10 Hours Days with Call Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active state license Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Understanding of drug-free workplace policies Description: The Electrophysiology Technologist assists physicians with specialized electrophysiology procedures under sterile technique. They prepare the examination area and position patients for procedures. The technologist operates complex radiology equipment following established techniques and routines. Assistance is provided to physicians as needed, including passing materials and taking exposures as directed. The role involves demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the ages of the patients served. The unit comprises 11 employees and 4 Electrophysiologists with 2 procedure rooms currently in operation. The volume of procedures ranges from 5 to 10 per day, depending on the type scheduled. The department operates Monday to Friday, with rotating Saturday call from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The staff consists of 5 technologists and 6 registered nurses. Understanding and adhering to workplace policies is essential.
