Full Service Real Estate and Property Management company seeking an Controller to join their team!
Qualifications
- 5 + years Accounting experience
- Experience out of Real Estate or related industry
- Supervisory experience
- Financial Reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proficiency in Yardi Voyager
- Solid understanding of real estate accounting principles
- Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Excellent communication skills
- Fully in office
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of multifamily properties, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring adherence to deadlines and accuracy of reporting
- Oversee reconciliation of bank accounts, operating accounts, and escrow accounts
- Review accounts payable and accounts receivable activity, including rent rolls, tenant ledgers, and collections
- Analyze variances between actual results and budget/forecast and provide explanations to management
- Collaborate with property management team to ensure accurate coding of expenses and proper financial reporting
- Maintain and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
- Assist with preparation of budgets and reforecasts in coordination with property
