Compliance Specialist - Brunswick Boat Group Technology Center (BBGTC)

Position Overview As part of the Brunswick Boat Group Tech Center, this role is responsible for the compliance and certification of new and existing products to all applicable marine industry boat construction regulations, voluntary standards, and internal best practices. Responsibilities Review product safety and compliance requirements and ensure integration into the product line. Identify safety critical and compliance issues through the Product Audit Program and aid in timely resolution. Report and track safety critical and compliance issues to ensure corrective actions are effective and continued conform. Ensure all products are audited in a timely manner per audit rates for each boat model. Provide audit findings to new model integration and ensure inspections on the first ten vessels during manufacturing. Participate in plant-wide inspections for overall assurance of policy acceptance. Maintain frequent interface with other Brunswick Boat Group manufacturing facilities to ensure consistency with the program guidelines. Maintain knowledge of all applicable global industry standards. Process and submit applications for certification to agencies annually. Regularly interface with manufacturing and engineering groups and keep all parties updated on regulatory changes. Track and ensure corrective action on product safety and compliance non‑conformities. Educate plant personnel on product safety and compliance recognition. Build compliance books documenting compliance of all new products. Participate in engineering drawing reviews and provide feedback. Review applicable data points to enhance and improve the audit function. Support manufacturing and customer service on issue resolution as needed. Coordinate vendor approvals of compliance critical items for new products. Participate in water tests and sea trials for compliance testing. Maintain ABYC membership and participate in technical committees. Coordinate and present technical training on marine construction standards to production personnel. Required Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Quality) or related discipline; or equivalent experience. ABYC Standards Accreditation Course and NMMA Compliance Specialist Certification preferred. Minimum 5 years experience at a boat production facility working with Marine Industry Regulations preferred. Experience interfacing with outside vendors. Experience performing quality audits. Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks independently. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills. Working knowledge of PC software (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, AS400, etc.) and preferred CAD experience. Boating experience desired. Willingness to travel minimum 10% and work extra hours when required. Working Conditions The role requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting, occasional handling of heavy items up to 50 pounds, use of hands, arms, and vision. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes, or chemicals may occur. Noise level is typically moderate. Pay Range $70,600 – $101,800 annually.
