Position Overview
The RN Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organization, development, and management of all in-service education programs, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements- Possession of a nursing diploma (either an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing).
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the applicable state, with the requirement to maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in skilled nursing is preferred.
- Experience in teaching or education is preferred.
- CPR certification is required upon hire or must be obtained during orientation, and it must remain current throughout employment.
- A strong desire and capability to effectively train and educate nursing staff and other associates as necessary.
- Possess expert knowledge in the relevant field of practice.
- Ability to make independent decisions when the situation calls for it.
- Familiarity with practices, procedures, and the laws, regulations, and guidelines that govern operations in a post-acute care setting.
- Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas, including but not limited to patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
- Maintain professional relationships with all associates, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information.
- Understand and adhere to organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
- Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following the organization's Code of Conduct and completing all mandatory compliance training.
- Plan, develop, direct, conduct, evaluate, and coordinate staff training, education, in-service programs, and orientation sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of associate training and in-service participation.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
- Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary.
- Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance.
- Utilize reasoning skills and sound judgment in various situations.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate productively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently throughout working hours.
- Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language proficiently.
