Position Summary RN, Advanced Motility - Digestive Health Institute - Downtown About the Institute Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute offers comprehensive services for digestive tract and gastrointestinal conditions, leveraging advanced diagnostic and treatment options—including artificial intelligence—to improve diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes. Role Overview Pool Motility Procedure RN (per diem). Provides supplemental staffing on a flexible schedule to support coverage for vacations, call‑outs, volume fluctuations, and operational needs. Key Responsibilities Perform non‑sedated esophageal manometry, anorectal manometry, pH impedance testing, and biofeedback therapy; receive on‑the‑job training and certification in these procedures. Demonstrate critical knowledge, skills, and judgment to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies, high‑intensity interventions, and high‑level continuous nursing vigilance. Utilize assessment data to anticipate and respond confidently to rapidly changing patient conditions. Identify and prioritize information to take immediate, evidence‑based action focused on patient outcomes. Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpreting electronic displays such as intracranial, central venous, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms, respirators, ventilators, oxygen pumps, etc. Respond to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol. Observe and assess patient condition, recognize serious situations, and initiate pre‑planned emergency measures when physicians are not immediately available. Assess patient needs and develop or revise individualized care plans, evaluate progress toward expected outcomes. Respect diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers. Act as a patient and family advocate. Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of patients served on the unit/department. Serve as preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician. Communicate and collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to plan and manage the unit/department effectively. Serve as a role model, supporting hospital and nursing department goals and strategies. Apply growth and development principles, assess patient data, and adapt care to age‑specific needs. Coordinate care and delegate tasks to team members as appropriate. Document patient care consistently, meeting all required and regulatory standards for assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and safety. Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit/department standards. Prioritize patient care continually according to evidence‑based practice standards of care. Practice effective problem identification and resolution. Delegate tasks in accordance with patient needs and team member capabilities. Communicate changes in patient condition or unit concerns to other health‑care team members. Provide compassionate and therapeutic environment for patients and families. Be aware of legal issues and patients’ rights. Collaborate with education and nursing leadership to transition new team members or students. Maintain punctual, regular attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and local standards. Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Other Related Functions Contribute to knowledge, skills, and continuous improvement of health‑care practice and organizational outcomes. Participate in or lead unit‑level and/or organizational committees of nursing practice and performance improvement. Participate in department and organizational peer review, mentoring, and coaching. Practice efficient use of supplies, maintain safe and organized work area. Attend staff development services, department meetings, and nursing committee meetings. Partner with nursing leadership to identify professional development needs. Assume responsibility for personal professional development and continuing education. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education/Training Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Meet all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department. Licensure/Certification Current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license. Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain areas; NRP required for NICU. Experience 1 year experience required unless approved by AVP level or above. #J-18808-Ljbffr Orlando Health
