Description Part-time, split shift similar to a school van schedule. The hours for this position vary based on Center need. If you answered YES, then consider joining our Devereux Team as a Driver! Devereux Pocono Center provides programs and services for adults with developmental disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional at Devereux, you will provide safe and appropriate transportation for adults receiving services with Devereux Pocono. As a part-time driver for Devereux you will: Provide safe and appropriate transportation for all Pocono Center residents Be responsible for supervision of residents and ensuring that their physical, emotional and personal needs are met in situations where professional accompaniment is not necessary Assist Coordinator in vehicle maintenance Perform safety inspections on assigned vehicles and ensure that the vehicle is clean inside and out Respond to emergency situations as necessary Serve as courier when needed Attend in-service training programs to develop skills in dealing with residents effectively Exercise the rules of safety at all times Have access to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that support our diverse employee population. Perform related duties, special assignments and projects as assigned by coordinator. Payrates: Starting rates $18.00-20.52 hr depending on experience. Experience: Two or more years driving experience. Good documentation and organizational skills. Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license with a clear record. Physical Requirements: Requires walking and standing half to three-quarters of the workday; quarter to half of the workday sitting. Frequently requires stooping, bending. Occasionally requires lifting weights up to 50 lbs. Requires vision and physical ability to regularly operate Devereux vehicles. Requires physical ability to successfully perform CPR, First Aid procedures, and Crisis Prevention/Intervention techniques. Significant and frequent use of physical requirements associated with verbal and written communication. Must be free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants, or other chemical substances or controlled substances.
