This onsite contract role seeks skilled Sign Language Interpreters to work hands-on in an educational environment for the upcoming school year, with the potential for a long-term assignment. The position’s start is immediate, continuing through late May 2027, with possible planning days before and after the main assignment.

• Full-time hours (minimum 37.5 hours weekly), with potential consideration for part-time availability depending on candidate preferences and needs.

• Active collaboration to determine age group preferences and placements, allowing for a personalized experience within the district.

Qualifications:

• Valid Georgia Educator Certificate for Sign Language Interpreters, with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher.
• Will also consider Sign Language Interpreter Paraprofessionals who have EIPA scores close to 3.5 and are committed to re-taking the exam, with the option to transition to a full SLI role during the school year.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, including the ability to complete daily service logs as part of the role.
• Proven experience interpreting in educational or related settings is highly valued.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Use American Sign Language to facilitate communication between students, staff, and school communities.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation for student services each day.
• Adapt interpreting style to various age groups and classroom environments.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to create supportive, inclusive learning experiences.
