Instructional Designer for CBT

We are seeking an Instructional Designer for CBT to join our team. The selected candidate will work onsite in Tallahassee, Fl alongside the project team. The selected candidate may be required to work non-traditional hours as needed.

This position's expectations include:

• Responsible for instructional design and computer-based training (CBT) development including job duties and tasks described below.

Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor's degree in instructional design, curriculum development, adult education, performance improvement, graphic design, digital design and animation, or other multimedia related subjects.

1 to 2 years of experience and/or working knowledge of instructional design, curriculum development, adult education, performance improvement, graphic design, or other multimedia related subjects.

The selected candidate must be able to perform the following duties and/or tasks. Duties of the selected candidate will include, but not be limited to:

• Design and develop Computer-Based Training (CBT) by using engaging learning activities, course content, quizzes and course interactions that will aid in retention and transfer, meet the business need and support the overall training strategy of the Department of Transportation using Articulate 360 and Adobe Captivate.
• Apply adult learning theory, scenario-based learning techniques, and instructional design best practices.
• Create compelling graphics, such as banners, logos, flyers, posters, infographics, job aids, etc. using Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and Illustrator.
• Create and edit engaging audio and video for use on websites and in CBTs using Adobe Premiere Pro, Captivate, Articulate 360, and After Effects.
• Create storyboards, discuss project plans, follow project schedules, and manage project workloads independently while maintaining a strong working relationship and effective communication with the team members.
• Support and assist with special projects and initiatives that support the agency and Organizational Development Office.

The selected candidate must be able to apply common knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:

• Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning concepts, techniques, and methods
• Knowledge of trends in creative design, processes, products, digital media, and websites
• Knowledge of 508 Electronic and Information Technology Standards
• Skill in researching, compiling, and analyzing data to report findings
• Skill in using Microsoft Suite; including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
• Skill in producing and organizing supporting materials
• Skill in managing self and taking pride in providing exceptional customer service by responding with a sense of urgency, practicality, accountability, and integrity
• Skill in working in a dynamic environment that requires critical thinking and strong analytical skills
• Skill in effective communication; both verbal and written and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
• Ability to use multimedia development tools (audio-video Production, streaming media, Graphic design, website design, computer-based training software, publication software, etc.) with an emphasis on the Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Captivate, and Articulate 360
• Ability to interact and collaborate directly with customers and colleagues
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and prioritize work assignments for him/herself or other team members
• Ability to receive and give constructive criticism, and maintain effective work relationships
