To learn more about us and our team, visit our website.About You and the Role The Senior Systems Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, support, and analysis of communications and encryption devices. We are looking for a San Diego-based Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at NKI. This is a 100% onsite, full-time position following a 9/80 schedule.What You Will DoProvide technical support to the program cyber lead.Advise on deployment of cryptographic equipment and mitigate emerging threats.Provide subject matter expertise in encryption technologies.Provide technical analysis of emerging cryptographic products in support of acquisition decisions.Liaise with cryptographic device vendors to determine device lifecycle.Provide briefings to leadership.Support budget and fielding decisions.Required QualificationsBachelor 's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline. 5-15 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, or Network Security Strong analytical and problem-solving capability. Ability to research and design new technologies for integration into a system. Strong written communication skills.U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance at the Secret level; TS/SCI Preferred. Active Secret or TS/SCI Clearance Ideal.Preferred QualificationsModel -based Systems Engineering (MBSE)Functional Analysis, performance analysis, and Systems designLinuxFull-Stack experienceDOORSAbility to write CONOPS, Specifications or Requirements and derive into software design, code, test plans, and then execute Systems level testing/debugging.Knowledge of network protocols, network and system design, Internet Protocols, routing, TCP/IP, OSI stackEncryption techniques: Diffie Hellmann, Public Key Cryptography, IPSec, MACsec, TLSBackground in cryptographic device development and lifecycle.Understanding of DoW cryptographic policies and publications (CJCSN 6510, NSA Cryptographic Equipment Decertification, National Manager Memos).Knowledge of a wide range of High Assurance encryption products, including Secure Voice, Link Encryption, hardware and software.
