Our client is seeking a Construction Inspector / Resident Project Representative (RPR) to support the construction of municipal infrastructure projects throughout Indiana. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in delivering essential public infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, utility, and transportation improvements that have a lasting impact on the communities they serve.

This role is ideal for experienced Construction Inspectors, RPRs, Superintendents, Foremen, or civil construction professionals who enjoy working in the field, solving problems, collaborating with contractors, and being actively involved in the construction process from start to finish.

While the majority of projects involve municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, candidates with broader civil construction and underground utility experience are encouraged to apply.

• Serve as the owner's on-site representative throughout active construction.
• Observe contractor activities to verify compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and contract documents.
• Maintain detailed daily reports, field logs, photographs, field notes, and project documentation.
• Review and track construction schedules, shop drawings, material submittals, and project progress.
• Verify installed quantities and assist with the review of contractor pay applications.
• Attend pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and project coordination meetings.
• Communicate field issues, questions, and potential conflicts to project engineers and project managers.
• Coordinate with contractors, utility providers, municipalities, and project stakeholders.
• Support site safety efforts and observe contractor compliance with project safety requirements.
• Remain actively involved on-site throughout construction activities to monitor progress and quality.

• Water main installation and rehabilitation
• Sanitary sewer collection systems
• Storm sewer improvements
• Pump stations and lift stations
• Water treatment facilities
• Wastewater treatment facilities
• Underground utility infrastructure projects
• Roadway and municipal infrastructure improvements

• Experience as a Construction Inspector, Resident Project Representative (RPR), Superintendent, Foreman, or similar field construction professional.
• Strong understanding of civil construction, underground utility installation, and infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and construction reporting software.
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in the field.
• Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Indiana, including overnight travel when necessary.

• Primarily field-based position with daily presence on active construction sites.
• Typical construction hours are approximately 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, though schedules may vary by project and season.
• Overtime is common during peak construction periods and is compensated accordingly.
• Candidates should be comfortable working 40+ hours per week during active construction seasons.
• Work will involve outdoor exposure to varying weather and site conditions.

• Inspectors must be willing to travel to project locations as needed.
• Mileage reimbursement provided at the current federal reimbursement rate.
• Hotel accommodations provided for projects requiring overnight travel.
• Daily per diem provided for eligible overnight assignments.

• Competitive hourly compensation based on experience.
• Overtime paid at one and one-half times regular pay for hours worked over 40 per week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Evansville, IN.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
