Construction Superintendent/SSHO/QCM
Salary based on experience and certifications
Job Description: Oversee and direct daily construction activities at government project site, including all supervision, quality control and safety aspects of the project. Work with Government team in coordination of contractor work. Must be familiar with a variety of construction site practices and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
· Direct subcontractors and subordinates on quality/safety issues.
· Direct all job site activities to maintain compliance with contract specifications
· Provide periodic written reporting and scheduling updates.
· Evaluate situations and render decisions on certain issues without immediate supervision.
· Coordinate all subcontract work in accordance with project schedule.
· Supervise project employees and subcontractors to ensure quality and timeliness of construction.
· Inspect work in progress to ensure quality standards with finished project.
· Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager regarding the status of job.
· Complete and submit project reports as required.
· Understand and implement OSHA / EM 385-1-1 safety requirements throughout site.
· Knowledgeable of SWPPP requirements site wide and mitigate any impact to outlying areas/ community.
· Maintain a safe and compliant job site on a daily basis.
· Control hazardous working conditions and unsafe activities through safety management and contacting supervisory personnel.
· Supervise and administer safety/first aid activities including work assignments, personnel supervision and training as required.
· Review documentation to insure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures, and implement appropriate corrective action as required.
Required Experience:
· Ten (5-10) years of Supervision, Quality Control & Safety Enforcement experience.
· Commercial Construction project experience in the $1M to $5M range. Government/USACE/NAVFAC construction experience as a quality control/safety manager is a plus
· Experience working with USACE or NAVFAC - CQM certification a plus.
· Must have current First Aid/CPR certifications or will need to obtain.
· Ability to pass a background screening for the appropriate government entity having jurisdiction over the project.
· Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
· Proficiency in PC-based software to include Microsoft Office applications.
· Excellent time management and organizational skills.
· Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
· Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change.
· Ability to work flexible hours, as required meeting deadlines
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 5-10 years of prior experience in construction supervision.
- Current OSHA 30 Hour Construction training certification (will need to take online within 30 - days), Knowledge of EM 385-1-1
- Quality Control Management, USACE or NAVFAC Certificate (will need to take online within 60 - days)
- First Aid/CPR training (current).
- Strong leadership and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Computer skills including MS Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- DMV and base access background checks are required.
Preferred Experience, Education, Skills, and Certifications:
· Preferred experience working with government contracts.
· Experience in the quality control/safety management of government construction projects.
· Experience in military construction (including USACE and/or NAVFAC projects)
· Preferred experience with MATOC and Task Order projects
