Assembly Technician Milling & Rework Technical Support and Product AssemblyThis role focuses on assembling, supporting, and servicing high-end micro milling and surface mount rework systems used for PCB repair across military, aerospace, and consumer electronic applications. You will build complex equipment, support customers with technical solutions, and travel to customer sites to install, train, and troubleshoot systems. The position combines hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly, customer-facing technical support, and close collaboration with engineering.ResponsibilitiesAssemble and build high-end micro milling and rework machines used for PCB repair and electronic assembly applications.Perform mechanical and electrical assembly using hand tools, wiring, schematics, and blueprints to ensure equipment is built to specification.Collaborate with engineering to develop and implement technical solutions for customer applications and special requirements.Provide direct technical support to customers and vendors regarding equipment service, repair, and performance issues.Travel to customer sites in North America approximately 30-45% of the time to install equipment, perform start-up, and conduct on-site training on milling and rework systems.Support additional domestic and international travel as needed for installations, service visits, and customer training.Use strong interpersonal and presentation skills to deliver clear training sessions and communicate technical information to customers and internal teams.Apply soldering and de-soldering skills to support PCB repair, rework processes, and system demonstrations.Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on milling and rework systems to restore proper operation and minimize downtime.Work on multiple projects simultaneously, effectively prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced technical environment.Utilize Microsoft Office and Teams to document work, prepare reports, communicate with colleagues, and coordinate with customers.Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and accuracy during all assembly, service, and training activities.Contribute as a team player by supporting colleagues, sharing knowledge, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.Essential SkillsHands-on experience with mechanical assembly using hand tools, wiring, and related equipment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for mechanical and electrical assemblies.Technical skills with a strong mechanical aptitude for working with complex machinery and precision equipment.Understanding of soldering and de-soldering techniques for PCB repair and rework applications.Comfort working directly with customers and vendors, including service, repair discussions, and technical support.Strong interpersonal skills and presentation skills to deliver effective training and communicate technical concepts clearly.Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including 30-45% travel within North America for customer installations and training.Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and prioritize work effectively.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams for communication, documentation, and coordination.Ability to work collaboratively as a team player in a technical and customer-focused environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelors or Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.Project management experience, including coordinating timelines, resources, and deliverables for technical projects.Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving issues on complex equipment.Multilingual skills, particularly Spanish, to support a broader customer base and enhance communication.Experience working with PCB repair, micro milling systems, or surface mount rework equipment.Background in military, aerospace, or consumer electronics industries is beneficial.Why Work Here?You will join a highly technical and collaborative environment where precision engineering and customer support come together to solve complex electronics repair challenges.
