CNC Maintenance Technician

Location: Portland, CT
Pay: $30- $41/hour

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced CNC Maintenance Technician to maintain production and quality by ensuring the reliable operation of CNC machinery, production equipment, and mechanical systems used within our Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment.

This position will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment problems, complete repairs, assist with equipment installation and relocation, and coordinate with outside vendors when more complex repairs are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines, production equipment, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other shop machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and CNC equipment issues .
• Diagnose equipment problems by observing machinery in operation, listening for abnormalities, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Dismantle equipment and remove or replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes.
• Adjust and repair functional parts, devices, and control instruments.
• Assist with the installation and relocation of shop machinery and equipment.
• Help minimize production downtime through preventative maintenance and timely repairs.
• Fabricate repair parts when required.
• Maintain equipment, replacement parts, and supply inventories.
• Complete purchase requisitions and coordinate with vendors for parts and complex repairs.
• Follow equipment manuals, diagrams, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Maintain a safe, organized working environment.

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience , including troubleshooting and repairing CNC equipment.
• Hands-on experience with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems .
• Experience performing preventative maintenance on manufacturing machinery and shop equipment.
• Strong equipment troubleshooting and technical diagnostic skills.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Ability to read diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical specifications.
• Experience completing purchase requisitions and communicating with equipment or parts vendors.
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, flexibility, and productivity.
