Dental Hygienist Position

St. George Medical Clinic, Inc. – Dental Clinic is seeking a motivated, goal-orientated individual to help provide the most efficient dental care as a Dental Hygienist. SGMC – Dental is a fast growing federally qualified dental clinic providing superior quality dental care for patients of all ages. Qualified candidate must be courtesy and professional to both co-workers and patients, be a team-oriented individual with the ability to assess, perform and reinforce productive preventative dental care. Qualified candidate must communicate diagnosed dental treatment needs through established corporate protocols.

Other essential responsibilities include:

• Follow organizations practice protocols: quality assurance, biohazards, infection control, charting, referrals, emergency medicine, implants, and emergency treatment.
• Demonstrate proficient skills in dental prophylaxis and proper use of equipment.
• Demonstrate complete knowledge and usage of dental terminology, dental instruments, tray setups and instrument sharpening.
• Effectively communicate oral hygiene instructions and dispense proper oral hygiene aids.
• Comply with practice guidelines listed in employee handbook.
• Proficient in electronic charting - including graphical charting, and proper chart documentation.
• Understand and utilize basic insurance knowledge and financial policies.
• Provide positive and professional leadership role.
• Properly handle specialty referrals.
• Successfully maintain recall system.
• Dentrix computer experience a plus
• Achieve defined goals established by organization
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Current dental hygiene license in the state where job is located.
• Current CPR training.
• Associate Degree in dental hygiene a minimum, bachelor's degree preferred
• Two years of practice experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform basic computer functions; Excel, Word, Dentrix, etc.
• Exercise knowledge of dental instruments and terminology.
• Support corporate vision and strategy, both short term and long term.

Current hours of operations are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Flexible hours available (4 - 10 hour shifts).
