Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center (NWMRMC) is seeking a dedicated Sonographer (Ultrasound Technologist) to join our Radiology Department. The Sonographer performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, excellent patient interaction, and a commitment to producing accurate diagnostic images. Requirements Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, small parts, and general ultrasound procedures as assigned. Review physician orders and patient histories to ensure appropriate examinations are performed. Explain procedures to patients and provide compassionate care throughout the examination process. Position patients appropriately and obtain diagnostic-quality images. Recognize normal and abnormal anatomy and pathology for physician interpretation. Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and imaging systems. Ensure ultrasound equipment is functioning properly and report equipment concerns promptly. Assist with quality assurance and accreditation activities. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care. Maintain compliance with safety, infection prevention, HIPAA, and departmental policies. Participate in departmental call rotation as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program required. Licensure/Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Experience: One (1) year of ultrasound experience preferred. New graduates with strong clinical rotation experience are welcome to apply!
