Overview A global law firm is seeking a mid-level Patent Associate to join its Intellectual Property Practice Group in Austin. This role focuses on patent portfolio development, prosecution, and strategic counseling for clients across a range of technology-driven industries. Responsibilities Draft patent applications, particularly in computer and software-related technologies Manage and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO Advise clients on patent portfolio strategy and development Collaborate with clients on complex intellectual property matters Support broader IP initiatives within a growing practice Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of patent prosecution experience Experience drafting patent applications in areas such as software, AI/ML, fintech, telecommunications, or related technologies Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Strong academic credentials Ability to work directly with clients and handle sophisticated matters Education and Certifications Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related technical field preferred Candidates with mechanical engineering or similar backgrounds may also be considered Skills Strong patent drafting and prosecution experience Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines Client-facing skills and collaborative mindset Additional Information Opportunity to work within a nationally and globally integrated IP practice Exposure to a wide range of industries and complex patent matters Dynamic and growing team environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
