Data Engineer

Remote Data Engineer (Snowflake)Insight Global is looking for a remote data engineer to support a chemical manufacturing customer. This position will be a six-month contract-to-potential-hire and can sit remotely for an all-star candidate. This individual will join the company's data engineering team, a newly formed team and practice reporting directly to the director of data & AI. This role will play a critical part in stabilizing and enhancing an inherited data platform from the current vendor while also contributing to new development as the team's roadmap evolves.Key Responsibilities:Take ownership of an existing data engineering solution inherited from an incumbent vendor, including debugging, reverse engineering logic, and creating clear technical documentationServe as a liaison between the incumbent vendor and internal enterprise stakeholders, ensuring smooth knowledge transfer and continuityMaintain and support existing vendor-built tools and pipelines (~50% of role)Design and develop new data engineering solutions and enhancements (~50% of role)Work extensively within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, including OneLake, Data Factory, Synapse, and Power BIBuild and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQLApply strong logical reasoning to troubleshoot issues, optimize workflows, and improve reliabilityEmbrace an AI-driven mindset, leveraging modern tools and concepts to improve efficiency and development practicesWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
