Job Description

Anderson Center for Autism is seeking a dedicated and student‑focused Job Development Coach to support students participating in school‑to‑work transition activities, community work programs, and volunteer opportunities. In this role, you will train students in job‑related skills, provide on‑site coaching in community settings, support vocational goal development, and help ensure students are prepared for successful post‑graduate transitions. Your work plays a vital role in connecting academic learning to real-world experiences and fostering independence for each student served.

Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.75 Hourly; Based on experience and education

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
  • Facilitate vocational training for students by collaborating with instructors to design, implement, and assess job‑related skills, while ensuring safe supervision during all work‑training, community, and volunteer activities.
  • Integrate academic and vocational components by completing annual vocational assessments, aligning goals with assessment data, and collecting, graphing, and analyzing student data to inform instruction and support skill development.
  • Communicate effectively with school and residential staff to ensure consistency across settings, provide training and resources to students, staff, and employers, and stay current with best practices in autism education and vocational training.
  • Follow agency policies by reporting incidents promptly, completing required documentation, attending trainings, and participating in necessary meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Transition Coordinator, school leaders, teachers, and residential staff to meet individualized transition goals and maintain detailed records of student progress, assessments, support strategies, and workplace‑related documentation.
  • Conduct ongoing academic, communication, social, and vocational assessments; adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse learning styles and sensory needs; and provide support to classrooms or residences as needed while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Prepare materials, manage vocational program inventory, assist with purchasing approved items, and help identify community‑based volunteer and work opportunities in partnership with employers.
  • Accompany students to work sites to provide on‑site coaching, behavior support, and employment readiness guidance, while advocating for necessary accommodations and workplace supports.
  REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Teacher Assistant or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred.
  • Must maintain agency-required crisis intervention qualifications.
  • Ability to assist in crisis intervention and emergency evacuations as needed.
  • Must maintain agency mini‑van cleanliness and report any vehicle issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to changing student needs, and maintain confidentiality.
